Independent electrical retailers have scored highly in the latest Retail Satisfaction Survey conducted by Which? magazine. Independents were placed third overall in the survey of 96 UK retailers. The only electrical retailer ranked higher was John Lewis, who came second. Retailers were judged on products, environment, staff and convenience.
The winners of the 10th Retailer of the Year awards, sponsored by Domestic & General, were: Bridgewater electronics specialist Acland Radio & Television who won the title of the UK High Street retailer, while the runner up was Ayrshire's Euronic's dealer, J H Donald. The internet Retailer of the Year was Ecclesfield electrical specialist Crampton & Moore.

The announcement declared that the government has committed to a bold digital migration plan, the criteria of which should be met by 2015. It also confirmed that the UK is the global leader in DAB, which has been identified as the dedicated digital platform and primary distribution method of digital radio in the future.
