Samsung reaches the number one position in CE
Published:  09 November, 2007

Samsung's consumer electronics division has reached the number one position in the UK CE market for total sales of consumer electronics during the quarter, April to June 2007, with a total market brand share of 16.5%, according to GfK figures.

Over the past two years Samsung has introduced several ranges of innovative CE products which have helped the company to reach the leadership position. Among the best selling products have been Samsung's LCD and Plasma televisions which combined modern design with premium functions, such as the Bordeaux and Tulip LCD ranges and the Calla range of plasma TVs.

Samsung has also invested heavily in pioneering a number of technology firsts. These include the introduction of full HD flat panel TVs on both LCD and plasma technology and the launch of the commercial high definition Blu-ray Disc player. The company has also invested heavily in its innovative MP3 player ranges, which have included the Bluetooth music enabled T9.

Commenting on the success of Samsung's consumer electronics business, Andy Griffiths, director of consumer electronics, Samsung UK said: “Our growing success over the past two years can be attributed to several factors, but the great design and technical excellence of our consumer product range cannot be denied.”
