The contribution of Uwe Hanneck to the industry and to the Association of Manufacturers of Domestic Appliances has been celebrated at a special luncheon in London, hosted by AMDEA. Uwe, who has served as AMDEA chairman for three consecutive terms, led the Association through a period of intense activity, with the instigation of a swathe of new European environmental legislation.
He was a key driver in the launch of AMDEA’s Time to Change Campaign which aims to provide the public with information on the energy use of their appliances and savings to be gained by early replacement.
He is well known for “unprecedented passion and commitment to the industry in which he worked since 1972”, said John Morrissey, the new chairman of AMDEA.
