The world of digital imaging is constantly on the move. The demand from the enthusiast to the professional, for products that are of the highest design standards, comfortable and easy to use and producing outstanding image quality is firmly at the forefront of Sony’s mind. When we all took pictures, you could not always be sure how the image would turn out and when you recorded those special moments on video, every time you played back to tape, the quality would degrade.
Now we can shoot, share, enjoy and preserve those moments for ever.
To create a truly enjoyable experience with Sony’s digital imaging products we have focused on the development of our Exmor sensor and Bionz processor technology from exceptional performance in low light and capturing high speed images, together with developing the NEX camera range, the most adaptable compact system camera in the market place, by increasing the lens possibilities and raising the bar for the compact system camera with three innovative new models for the second half of 2011. Advancing the entry and serious enthusiast DSLT (Digital Single Lens Translucent-Mirror) level cameras has also been key to offering the consumer a premium experience. Projector Handycam has enabled instant sharing with family and friends on a large scale, with Bloggie making it easy to shoot, connect and share your memories with the world, and last but by no means least the HX CyberShot series bringing super high quality to your pocket.
Shooting in low light can be very challenging, with shaky, blurred images often being produced. To allow quality low light images, Sony has improved even further the Exmor R and Exmor HD CMOS sensors. Key shooting modes such as Multi Frame noise reduction, when a sequence of frames are taken very quickly, the noise levels (the digital version of film grain) are analysed and a final single image is produced, with these noise levels greatly reduced. This means everyone can take images in low light with confidence and not miss that great shot! For creating well balance images the Auto HDR (High Dynamic Range) function also produces a single image from a fast sequence, this time ensuring the shadows, mid tones and highlights are perfectly recorded. The new NEX-7, Alpha 65 and Alpha 77 models feature the world’s first OLED viewfinder, offering world class image viewfinder, 100% coverage crisp natural colour and contrast reproduction and the ability to play back images in the viewfinder with full information...another Sony world first.
To make these products user friendly for all users, whether you are new to them or not, an in-built user guide is available to help you enjoy your experience. Shooting tips are also available in camera to guide you through to recording the memories important to you. Sony has developed and advanced these technologies to ensure the experience is one the consumer will never forget!
