At the gala dinner of the Independent Business Awards 2011 in the Forest of Arden Hotel, Warwickshire, the industry cheered the achievements of the electrical goods manufacturers and their independent partners.
The list of winning products and campaigns demonstrated that even in tough market conditions the electrical industry hasn’t stopped innovating and it continues to offer consumers the latest technology as well as taking care of the scarce environmental resources.
This year, the independents voting in the Awards gave the Ultimate Top Supplier accolade to Samsung.
The current market situation has also proved the importance of the independent retailers and their professional expertise was honoured in five categories of the Awards. The Best Customer Service Award went to Moss of Bath.
With the audience’s enthusiastic approval, the Lifetime Achievement Award, was presented to Steve Dowdle. Mr Dowdle, who was Sony’s UK managing director until his recent retirement, is well known as a champion of the consumer electronics industry and the independent sector.
