In an increasingly competitive consumer market and ever changing economic climate. Freesat is pulling out all the stops in the run up to peak to ensure retailers are fully supported in delivering their best Freesat Christmas to date.

Last year saw Retailers enjoy their best December growth for eight years, with Like-for-like sales rising 4.2% by value during the month. As we fast approach the peak retail trading period, we wanted to update you on how the Freesat service proposition is evolving and how we will be supporting retailers throughout peak and beyond.

Freesat are adding a third HD channel (BBC One HD) shortly in addition, ITV Player will be added to the existing BBC iPlayer, allowing viewers to catch up on ITV1, 2, 3 and 4 programming with further catch up services due to launch, adding to the 157 channels and services currently available on freesat.

Freesat’s biggest advertising campaign to date

The campaign which breaks in October will be the biggest to date for Freesat. As a result we are expecting a significant uplift in sales during the peak period to support the new brand position. The TV campaign will also coincide with the launch of a brand new Freesat website, with a complete new look and feel. Dealer Portal

Freesat is currently retailed from over 5,000 different retail locations throughout the UK and Northern Ireland, and with an increasingly developing and complex proposition the need to communicate in detail with our retail partners is paramount. With this in mind Freesat is soon to launch our exclusive interactive dealer portal later this year. For full details and exclusive details please see your November Issue of IER.

Know Your Products and Services, investing time in understanding Freesat products and services allow you to confidently know all the features of the products and their relevance from a customers' point of view.

A great tip is to know the advantages and benefits to consumer’s Freesat can offer. Your knowledge is invaluable and will add value to your service, because you'll be able to differentiate Freesat from the rest and position it advantageously in line with your customer requirements.

2. Availability

Consumers cannot buy what retailers do not have. If it’s not displayed, buried in a stock room, out of stock. Research shows for many retailers this is the area that creates the most potential in lost sales.

3. Keep it Simple - Connecting with your customers

Your excellent customer service is the key to increasing sales. Listen to your customer to understand their needs and wants. 4. Help People make the right Freesat choice

Asking the right questions and taking an interest in customer’s questions will create a positive attitude. Find out their requirements and how Freesat can best meet their needs.

5. Adding Value

Introducing your customers to products and accessories they may have not have considered previously. The benefits a Freesat PVR can offer, Freesat approved AV home plugs offer a great way to connect Freesat HD boxes and integrated TV’s to the internet.
