BSH Group has received the Innovation Prize for Climate and Environment from the German Federal Minister for the Environment for its zeolite drying system for dishwashers, which considerably reduces the appliances’ energy consumption.

Fisher & Paykel’s CoolDrawer, the iconic multi-temperature cooling drawer, has been awarded an iF product design award in the kitchen appliances category.

From 1 March through to 31 May 2010, Gorenje is offering a free five-year parts and labour guarantee on any one of four of the recently launched eco-friendly washing machines and dryers. These include the WA72145 and WA72145BK washing machines and the D72325 and D72325BK condenser dryers.

Russell Hobbs has merged with Spectrum Brands, Inc. to form a new global consumer products company with  $3 billion annual revenue.    The new company will operate under the Spectrum Brands name. 

Siemens has introduced the prestigious ‘iQ Design Studio’ concept for its top 50 retailers. Eligible retailers, who fulfil criteria such as minimum turnover targets and majority appliance display requirements, can apply to Siemens for possible selection.  If accepted, the ‘iQ Design Studio’ is entitled to use a special logo and vehicle livery to promote their studio as the best Siemens kitchen retailer in the area. 

Vivanco UK will be moving to larger offices in Luton in May, from its current Hemel Hempstead site. The new offices have over 70,000 sq ft of modern warehousing space.
