Pure joins forces with the EST and retra to promote energy efficient radios
Pure radios use less energy than an energy saving light bulb
Published:  06 May, 2009

PURE has teamed up with The Energy Saving Trust and retra to launch its ‘Less than a Light Bulb' campaign, which underlines the energy saving credentials of its radios to the consumer.

According to the Energy Saving Trust, "running four PURE Energy Saving Recommended radios will use less electricity than one low energy light bulb on for the same time".

PURE will promote its ‘Less than a Light Bulb' campaign in consumer and trade press as well as at point of sale at independent retail outlets during the summer months to drive awareness of its Energy Saving Trust recommended radios. Participating dealers will receive a special promotional pack including bespoke PoS material highlighting the light bulb comparison. Retra and the Energy Saving Trust will further communicate this message to their members and contacts and via their websites.

Colin Crawford, PURE's director of marketing, says: "Consumers are increasingly looking for more eco-friendly products, and telling us that power consumption matters to them. The message that you can run four of our radios for less energy than a single low-energy light bulb is a very direct way to highlight just how successful we've been in reducing digital radio power consumption over the past seven years."
