FLAT SCREEN TV MARKET TREND

Flat screen TV has been around for almost 10 years now and initially a 42" Flat screen Plasma TV would fetch a price as high as a new car. Though in recent times, the average price has reached an all time low, with margins barely enough to help pay the rent. Retailers now face uncertain times and must do their utmost to offer consumers value added purchases, profitably.

WALL MOUNTS

At Vogel's, we understand the need for companies to operate with profitable product offerings. Research tells us there is a direct link to the price of a Flat screen TV, and how much a consumer will pay for an accompanying furniture/fixture. That is why our latest product range achieves competitive consumer pricing while retaining high retailer margins.

We make every effort to understand consumers wants and needs, we recently commissioned a research project to identify these and now tailor our offering based on validated consumer insights. *We found that 48% of UK homes have more than one Flat screen TV, yet surprisingly the majority of consumers are still standing them on traditional furniture as they would an old CRT TV, not making the most of the space saving USP of a Flat screen TV.

We found that one of the main consumer concerns is the apparent "fear factor" related to wall mounting a TV. Consumers fear the strength of the bracket may not support their expensive TV or that they cannot wall mount it themselves.

*Studies revealed that consumers who do decide to wall mount their Flat screen TV in the home will look for three characteristics:

  1. The supporting power and sturdiness
  2. The quality of the support
  3. The ease of assembly

Introducing the new 8000 series

8000 SERIES LAUNCH (APRIL 2009)

Vogel's launch their latest range of wall mounts, offering unique customer benefits and trade retailer propositions. The new products feature 'Superflat' designs, at only 20mm thickness to the wall, Motion and Motion+ delivers viewing angles of up to 90º perpendicular to the wall. The 8000 series is supported with uncomplicated easy to read assembly instructions, integrated spirit level and an Autolock® system that secures the TV firmly in place without fuss. They also feature Cable Inlay System CIS®, Screen Protection System®, Lifelong Guarantee and are complimented with additional cable columns and AV brackets to complete the story.

TRAINING

Consumers are fearful and apprehensive of wall mounting their TV. "Will it be hard to do myself", "Will it hold my expensive TV". *Research has revealed that there are three people involved in the purchasing process. The purchasing couple and the Sales Advisor, who assists by up to 46%, offering "Advice and Reassurance". Make sure your staff are trained and knowledgeable.
