The Kenwood Chef Range
Published:  30 January, 2009

First launched at the 1950 Ideal Home show, the Kenwood Chef has become indispensable in many kitchens worldwide. This ‘all singing, all dancing' machine, created to make life easier in the kitchen was designed and developed by Kenneth Wood and Kenneth Granger. Kenwood is the #1 brand in Kitchen Machines and Food Preparation overall.

Who would need a Kitchen Machine?

It is important to find out the customers needs before they buy a food preparation product as what they think they want may not be what they actually need. There are many machines for food preparation in the market - asking how the customer is planning on using a machine will save frustration or disappointment later. The Kenwood Chef is ideal for those:

  • interested in cooking from scratch, making their own cakes or bread;
  • who require an open bowl to allow air to be added into mixtures;
  • who prepare large quantities or batch cook;
  • who require the versatility the attachments provide.

The current Kenwood Chef range has been split into 3 easy to sell ranges. This is to ensure that the extra features that are provided as the range progresses are clear for consumers to understand.

KM336 Chef Classic

  • White finish
  • 800w motor
  • Non-stick bowl tools
  • 1.5L acrylic liquidiser

Every Kenwood Chef:

  • Has three separate power outlets, optimised for a range of dedicated food preparation tasks - Slow Speed; High Speed; Bowl. • Slow Speed: positioned behind a removable front cover, this outlet provides the perfect balance of slow speed / high torque needed to drive the specialised attachments, e.g. meat grinder or pasta roller. • High Speed: positioned at the top back of the machine, it allows the use of attachments that require a higher speed e.g. liquidiser or multi mill
  • Bowl Outlet: uses a planetary action to mix ingredients, meaning whilst the beater is revolving in one direction, the socket turns in the opposite direction making sure all the mixture is picked up from around the bowl, resulting in perfect and thorough mixing.
  • Is supplied with a 4.6L stainless steel bowl. This allows the consumer to make a cake with a capacity of 2.72kg (6lb), whisk 12 egg whites as efficiently as one egg white, and make dough up to 2.18kg (4lb 12oz). A hinged splash guard is also included as standard.
  • Is supplied with 3 dishwasher safe bowl tools, either non-stick or cast stainless steel depending on the model - a k beater for cakes and pastry, a balloon whisk for meringues and soufflés, and a dough hook for breads and pastries.
  • Is supplied with a 1.5L liquidiser attachment in glass or acrylic which fits onto the high speed outlet at the top of the machine.
  • Has 8 variable speeds plus pulse - all machines have a fully variable speed control with a pulse function for maximum control. This means precise power at all times regardless of the amount of mixture in the bowl.
  • Has an all metal gear box - these do not break which plastic ones are prone to, this ensures the Chef and Major are very durable.
  • Has the motor in the base of the machine, allowing the gearing to be in the ‘head' providing the ultimate in functionality.

KMC560 Chef Premier

  • Matt silver
  • 1000w motor
  • Non-stick bowl tools plus the Flexi Beater - unique to Kenwood, it is designed for soft mixes and scrapes the bowl as it rotates
