1st LED LCD for Philips

The Philips 42PFL9803H is the company's first LCD TV to feature an intelligent LED backlight system.

The LED Lux backlight means that the panel offers a staggering claimed contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1 and produces deep black levels - a real achievement for an LCD.

The TV also features 100Hz processing to tackle motion blur and also includes the maker's Perfect Pixel HD engine, designed for sharper images.

What's more, the new panel also boasts Philips' Ambilight Spectra 2 technology which produces ambient lighting to match the onscreen pictures.
