Ambilight

Ambilight has to be seen to be believed. The 9-series features Philips award winning Ambilight - a unique backlight that projects light onto the wall to complement the colours of on-screen images. Ambilight creates a more relaxed viewing experience, improves perceived picture detail, contrast and colour and will completely immerse the viewer in the on-screen action.
Ambilight is great for watching movies, sports, children's programmes or just normal day to day TV. Family and friends will be amazed by the lounge mode, allowing the Ambilight feature to be used as mood lighting while the TV is turned off.
Selling tip
Allow the customer to watch the TV with the Ambilight turned on, then after a few minutes turn the Ambilight off. The customer will immediately notice the difference and be amazed at the how Ambilight adds to their viewing experience and extends the picture beyond the four frames of the set.
Motion control

Philips 9 series range features the fastest LCD panels in the world with a 2 ms response time ensuring smooth judder free images. Combined with Philips award winning Perfect Pixel HD, viewers can experience the ultimate in detailed sharpness, smooth judder free motion, vivid colours and superb contrast.
Selling tip
Ask the customer if they experience judder when watching TV, then go into the TV menu, select Features and then select Demo. Here you will find a split screen mode to demonstrate Perfect Natural Motion. There are also options to demonstrate the Perfect Pixel HD Engine, 100Hz and the Active Control.
Sound
Benefit
For the complete cinematic viewing experience a great picture needs to be accompanied by great sound. The Philips unique "Invisible Sound" uses a combination of mid range speakers and subwoofers to provide superb sound and booming bass without unsightly speakers.
Selling tip
All Philips large screen LCD TV's come with a USB port. To demonstrate the sound quality load some MP3 music files onto a USB stick and play. The customer will be amazed by the depth of base and overall clarity; especially when compared to other TV's in-store.
New and exciting technologies for 2008 / 2009
Aurea II
Aurea II features a number of improvements to its flagship predecessor including: a new design, higher quality materials, increased picture processing, an enhanced light frame with a more accurate colour reproduction and a new high-quality Wide Colour Gamut LCD panel.
Philips has managed to both increases the performance of the Active Frame while also reducing it in size, giving the new set a more compact, slim-line silhouette. The Active frame is now finished in high quality, non-reflective glass, while the small black border to the screen found on the previous set has been replaced with a near transparent version for a better, seamless transition from the on screen colours to the frame and onto the surrounding wall.
The Active Frame also features an increased number of LEDs from 128 to over 150 with the result that colour intensity increases and a wider colour palate is produced, allowing Aurea II to more precisely match the colours of the onscreen images.
LED
Philips launches its first LED product and wins the EISA award for best product 2008-2009. The LED Lux display boasts a 2 million: 1 dynamic contrast ratio capable of producing the blackest of blacks along side brilliant whites. The Philips LED also has the Award winning Perfect Pixel HD Engine, Ambilight spectra and a stylish aluminum frame.
Essence
Philips Essence uses the latest technology and real materials to deliver a super slim design so minimal, that it leaves you nothing but the picture on your wall. A single cable connects the Philips Essence FTV directly to the connectivity hub which can be hidden away to avoid cable clutter. The Essence also comes with the award winning Perfect Pixel HD Engine.
