BSH sees a green future
Bosch & Siemens 2008 product preview
Published:  10 April, 2008

With its latest product ranges unveiled at the Falkirk Wheel in Scotland, the BSH group demonstrated its green credentials and good understanding of modern customers' expectations. The new models of Siemens and Bosch laundry and refrigeration appliances not only incorporated the features which ensure their better performance but also reduce the use of energy and water, and guarantee lower noise levels.

An example of this is the speedMatic range of Siemens dishwashers which use only 10 litres of water, have 0.97kwh energy consumption and operate at 40db - making them Siemens' quietest appliances. At the same time these dishwashers have a number of novel features, such as cutlery drawers, and an intensiveZone wash at the bottom of the appliance for heavy-soiled dishes.

Eco-friendly considerations were also behind the development of the new Siemens laundry appliances which, for example, have a 15 minutes programme (for 2kg wash) at 30ºC, with two rinses and one spin. The differentiating features of the new washers are self-cleaning detergent drawers, an automatic stain removal system and an anti-flood device which prevents accidents, should the leak occur on the pipe or within the machine.
