Sanyo takes the plunge

The Sanyo Xacti CA65 is the world’s first waterproof digital movie camera, says the maker. The compact camera, which requires no separate underwater housing, has been designed for one-handed operation so that it can be used during activities such as swimming, up to a depth of 1.5m.

What’s more, six-megapixel digital still images can also be captured at the same time as shooting video.

Additional features include a 5.0x optical zoom, an antishake Digital Image Stabiliser, 2.5 TFT LCD screen, wind noise and red-eye reduction, along with a speedy 1.3 second camera start-up.
