The Border TV region has become the first to complete the switchover to digital television. History was made on 22 July as the last analogue signals were switched off at the Caldbeck transmitter group. Following switchover, the availability of Freeview digital TV channels in the area has increased from 51% to 98% of households.

Loewe ProCollege, providing a range of bespoke training seminars on all aspects of retailer disciplines, was established in the UK. Loewe ProCollege provides participants with practical advice, best practice techniques and updates on the latest Loewe products. Prospective Loewe dealers wishing to find out about these programmes should call 01294 315 000.

Tesco has reached another milestone in its drive to go green by diverting 100% of its UK waste away from landfill. The retailer generates about 531,000 tons of waste each year. About 385,000 tons of that waste is recycled, leaving 146,000 tons that would normally go to landfill. Utilising recycling technology, however, Tesco has been able to achieve its goal of diverting all waste away from landfill a year ahead of schedule.

The Court has upheld REPIC's position (which has long campaigned to stop the wilful and deliberate over-collection by some schemes) that the deliberate over-collection of WEEE is unlawful.
